RSLC ANNOUNCES NEW ROUND OF CANDIDATES IN ‘2021 VIRGINIA CANDIDATE SPOTLIGHTS’ SERIES

Washington, DC — The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) today announced a new round of candidates for its “2021 Virginia Spotlight Candidates” series. The RSLC is proud to support Republicans like these who are fighting to expand opportunity in Virginia and push back against the failed policies from Democrat-controlled Richmond.

The slate of candidates running for the House of Delegates demonstrate the RSLC’s commitment to expanding the future of the party with candidates that have deep ties to the communities they represent. Virginia’s Republican statewide ticket already includes an entrepreneur and political outsider candidate for governor, a Black Jamaican American and veteran candidate for lieutenant governor, and a Hispanic candidate for attorney general. It will be strengthened by the 23 women, 8 minorities, 20 veterans, 18 young Republicans, and 35 business owners running for the House of Delegates.

Tony Wilt — Virginia House District 26 — @DelTonyWilt

Delegate Wilt represents the commonwealth’s 26th District. He is the president and general manager of his family’s business, which has been serving the community for more than 65 years.  In the House of Delegates, he serves on the Agriculture Committee, Chesapeake and Natural Resources Committee, Labor and Commerce Committee, Public Safety Committee, I-81 Committee, and the Virginia Small Business Commission. Delegate Wilt previously served as president of the Harrisonburg/Rockingham Chamber of Commerce. As a father, Delegate Wilt understands the importance of having kids in the classroom for in-person learning and will fight to keep critical race theory out of schools. As a businessman, he’s experienced first-hand the struggles small businesses face due to the failed liberal policies enacted in the last two years. He will continue to fight to make Virginia more affordable, invest in Virginia’s children, and bring more small businesses back to the commonwealth. 

Otto Wachsmann — Virginia House District 75

Otto Wachsmann was born and raised in Virginia’s 75th District. He owns and runs his family-owned pharmacy.  Prior to working as a pharmacist, Otto served as a fire fighter for the Stony Creek Volunteer Fire Department for sixteen years. Otto is married and has two children. While serving his rural community as a pharmacist, Otto saw many areas of decline for his patients. As a small business owner, he watches as hardware stores, grocery stores and other pharmacies close, leaving those in the community with a loss of valuable resources. In Richmond, Otto will work to expand economic prosperity in the district and ensure rural communities aren’t forgotten. 

Glenn Davis — Virginia House District 84 — @DelGlennDavis

Delegate Glenn Davis is business owner and entrepreneur. Prior to being elected to the House of Delegates, Delegate Davis served on the Virginia Beach City Council. He started his own telecommunications management firm, which soon became a leading telecom business, receiving several awards. In 2007 it was named by the Inc. 5000 as one of the 100 fastest growing IT companies in America. He has developed a proven track record in business, and has received numerous awards, including the Entrepreneurial Excellence Award from the Regent University School of Global Leadership and Entrepreneurship. He’s been a champion for small businesses, bringing more than 300 new jobs to Danville in 2020. He will continue working to provide new and innovative polices to improve the economy and expand Virginia’s skilled workforce. 

Sarah White — Virginia House District 53 — @Sarah4Va

Sarah White serves as Chief Operations Officer for YHR Holdings and as President of the Virginia Restaurant Lodging and Travel Association for Arlington and Alexandria. She is a member of the Fairfax County Republican Committee and National Association of Women Business Owners. During the pandemic, Sarah started her own company to support restaurants through their COVID-19 struggles. She is a champion for local small businesses, is on the policy board for Arlington Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Dulles Chamber of Commerce. Sarah’s extensive experience with the business community will be her guiding light in Richmond as she fights to grow small businesses. She’s also a fierce advocate for law enforcement and will work to provide more police funding and support programs that strengthen police-community relationships.
