EVERYTHING WAS ON THE LINE IN 2020:

THE FUTURE OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AND, MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE FUTURE OF OUR COUNTRY.

In 2020, winning state legislatures mattered more than ever before.

With as few as 42 state legislative seats determining as much as a 136-seat swing in the U.S. House of Representatives, everything was on the line – the future of our Party and, more importantly, the future of our country.

Because conservatives like you stepped up, we were able to defend our Republican majorities in 59 chambers, even adding 2 more to our ranks. This gives us the power to defend against liberal politicians who seek to silence conservative voices through gerrymandering – for the next decade.

CONSERVATIVES HAVE A SEAT AT THE TABLE

Because of resounding Republican victories in 2020, conservatives had a seat at the table for redistricting, the ability to redraw Congressional districts that will stand for the next decade. Republicans controlled the redistricting of 188 congressional seats — or 43% of the U.S. House, while Democrats will controlled the redistricting of 73 seats, or 17%.

$500+ million

was spent by liberal billionaires, unions, and left wing activist groups to influence the 2020 state legislative races.

“Democrats spent big to take control of state legislatures but lost their key targets. Now they’ll be on the sidelines as new maps are drawn.

The results could domino through politics in America, helping the GOP draw favorable congressional and state legislative maps by ensuring Democrats remain the minority party in key state legislatures. Ultimately, it could mean more Republicans in Washington — and in state capitals.

By Wednesday night, Democrats had not flipped a single statehouse chamber in its favor. And it remained completely blocked from the map-making process in several key states — including Texas, North Carolina and Florida, which could have a combined 82 congressional seats by 2022 — where the GOP retained control of the state legislatures.

After months of record-breaking fundraising by their candidates and a constellation of outside groups, Democrats fell far short of their goals and failed to build upon their 2018 successes to capture state chambers they had been targeting for years.”

“After an election that failed to deliver the powerful gains that Democrats had hoped for, results from statehouses painted a similar picture, with the lowest number of chambers changing hands in more than half a century.

Democrats had hoped for a “Blue Wave” to sweep statehouses that Republicans had controlled for years, running expensive ad campaigns and extensive get-out-the-vote efforts. But as the results came in, it became increasingly clear that they had failed on multiple fronts.”

“Heading into Election Day, Democrats had hoped to pick up a half-dozen or more state legislative chambers to get a foot in the door when many state politicians get to redraw congressional maps next year, lines that will last for the next decade and help determine which party controls Congress.

Instead, it’s possible Democrats end up with no new chambers, and it will be Republicans who leave 2020 with wins. Republicans picked up the New Hampshire House and Senate…”
