New RSLC Video Exposes Colorado Democrats on Election Year Makeover
Washington D.C.— Following the conclusion of the state legislative session in Colorado last week, the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) released a new video today exposing legislative Democrats on their election year makeover. The video comes just weeks after Democrat Senator Chris Hansen’s stunning admission to the Denver Post that the agenda Democrats in Denver have pursued this year has been for the sole purpose of saving their seats in a “tough cycle for Democrats.” The new video from the RSLC notes how the policies Democrats have advanced in 2022 are a weak attempt to paper over their record of raising the gas tax, increasing health insurance costs, and weakening law enforcement.
“Colorado Democrats’ legislative agenda during the last few months has been nothing more than an election year makeover,” said RSLC Deputy Communications Director Mason Di Palma. “The fact that legislative Democrats think they can pull a fast one on Colorado voters is shameful and reveals their true colors about how little they actually care about delivering for Coloradans. Colorado Democrats are in lockstep with the failing Biden agenda that has given Coloradans record high inflation, skyrocketing gas and a crime rate that is out of control, and voters know if the Democrats remain in power they will go right back to their radical liberal policies.”
Earlier this year, the RSLC released a national battleground survey that showed that the radical liberal agenda being pursued by President Biden and his allies in Washington, D.C. is sinking Democrats at the state legislative level in a number of key battleground states across the country, including Colorado. The committee in March announced that Colorado will be a top target in 2022.

BACKGROUND
During this legislative session, Colorado Democrats changed their position on a host of issues in order to cover up for their past failures ahead of the election.
In 2021, Colorado Democrats passed Senate Bill 260 which increased the gas tax. In 2022, Democrats supported House Bill 1351 to suspend that gas fee.
In 2020, Colorado Democrats supported Senate Bill 215, which created a new fee on health insurance premiums. In 2022, they all of the sudden “became concerned” with reducing prices and backed a plan to send rebate checks to Coloradans.
In 2020, Colorado Democrats voted for Senate Bill 217, which eliminated qualified immunity for police officers. In 2022 they supported legislation they claimed would reduce the rising crime rate.
