RSLC Statement on Georgia State Legislative Primary Results
Washington D.C.— Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) President Dee Duncan released the following statement on tonight’s state legislative primary results in Georgia:
“Georgia is a model for how Republican-led states can counteract Joe Biden’s disastrous agenda by passing commonsense legislation to cut taxes for working families, protect small businesses, empower parents, and support law enforcement. The strong state legislative candidates Georgia Republicans nominated tonight are poised to continue that track record of success and keep Georgia one of the best states in the country to do business. With Democrats in Washington hell-bent on pushing radical liberal policies that have inflation soaring, gas prices hitting new highs each day, and crime skyrocketing, it’s critical states like Georgia continue to hold the line. Defending our state legislative majorities in the Peach State is a priority for the RSLC so they can continue serving as the last line of defense against socialism for the people of Georgia.”
Background on RSLC in Georgia
Earlier this year, the RSLC named the Georgia Legislature as a top defensive target for 2022.
A national battleground survey conducted by the RSLC earlier in 2022, which included Georgia, found that 51% of voters prefer a Republican candidate who will act as a check and balance on President Biden and his Democratic policies compared to the 40% who would prefer a Democratic candidate who would support President Biden and his Democratic Policies.
The RSLC in 2020 played a key role in holding Georgia’s state legislative majorities as well as ousting Democrat House Minority Leader Bob Trammell.
