RSLC, SGLF Shatter Previous First Quarter Record by 64% with $10.1 Million Haul
WASHINGTON, D.C. –– The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) and its strategic policy partner, the State Government Leadership Foundation (SGLF), today announced that they shattered their previous first quarter fundraising record set in 2020 by 64%, bringing in $10.1 million during the first three months of 2022. The groups have now raised a total of $43.4 million this cycle, a 76% increase from what they hauled in at this point in 2020.
The committee’s record fundraising period was enhanced by yet another quarter of tremendous growth by its digital program.
Total raised online: $2,462,000
Increase in online fundraising compared to Q1 of 2021: 117%
New online donors: 10,700
Average online donation: $25.89
“The American people have had enough of Joe Biden’s failed leadership that has caused nothing but chaos, and this historic fundraising quarter reflects the enthusiasm we are seeing across the country for electing state Republicans who can counteract Democrat-controlled Washington’s failed agenda,” said RSLC President Dee Duncan. “Republicans may be firmly positioned on the right side of every major issue, but that isn’t stopping liberal billionaires from pumping millions into down-ballot races and trying to spend their way out of their disastrous situation. We need to keep our foot on the gas so we have the resources necessary to stop them as the election comes into focus and spending begins in earnest.”
In recent months, the RSLC has announced its state legislative targets and pledged to spend more than ever before on state Supreme Court races to counteract Eric Holder’s “Sue Until it’s Blue” map-rigging strategy. The committee went on offense last week by launching a six-figure ad campaign in multiple Democrat-controlled states targeting regretful Biden voters.
Less than a week after November’s election, the liberal States Project announced a pledged investment of $31 to flip state houses this year by recruiting more progressives. The same group, along with the liberal PAC Forward Majority, just last week announced an additional $20 million in spending on state legislative races. The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) told Politico in March that the half-billion dollars Democrats spent on legislative races in 2020 wasn’t enough.
