RSLC President Dee Duncan Releases Statement On The Virginia Primaries
Washington D.C.— Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) President Dee Duncan, released the following statement as primary night concludes in Virginia.
“Since flipping the chamber in 2021, Virginia House Republicans have been able to deliver on their promises to empower parents, strengthen the economy, and make their communities safer,” said RSLC President Dee Duncan. “We will work tirelessly in the coming months to help Virginia Republicans win key races for both the House and Senate so that these commonsense conservative priorities can finally become law and Virginia can move forward. The RSLC PAC will continue to invest in strong candidates that have what it takes to stand up to the radical left and we congratulate all of our nominees tonight on their primary victories.”
Background
Earlier this year, the RSLC launched a paid media effort, exposing Senate Democrats for blocking a bill that would have charged a drug dealer with a felony homicide if a user dies of an overdose from a narcotic like fentanyl.
Additional Background
In 2023, Virginia Democrats have blocked multiple commonsense policies, including:
Blocking tax relief designed to make the commonwealth more competitive.
Blocking a bill to repeal the adoption of California vehicle emissions standards that will ban new gas vehicles from being sold by 2035.
Blocking multiple bills that would improve Virginia’s education system.
Blocking a bill that would have expanded the supplement of the state’s sex offender registry.
In 2021, the RSLC PAC made significant investments in Virginia that led to Republicans flipping seven seats in the House of Delegates and regaining control of the chamber.
