RSLC Announces Leadership Change for 2025-2026 Cycle

Dee Duncan to Step Down as President at End of Year, Current Deputy Executive Director Edith Jorge-Tuñón to Serve as Next President

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) today announced that Dee Duncan will step down from his position as President at the end of 2024 after four years of leading the committee. Current Deputy Executive Director Edith Jorge-Tuñón will replace Duncan as President in January. Duncan, who will soon open his own public affairs and political consulting firm, will remain involved with the RSLC as a senior advisor in the upcoming cycle for the committee. The leadership change follows a historic election cycle for the committee, which overcame a drastic spending disparity to help state Republicans net-gain a chamber for the first time since the 2013-2014 cycle.

During the last two election cycles, Duncan has modernized the RSLC and enhanced its fundraising capabilities. The committee raised a record $82 million during the 2021-2022 cycle, only to shatter that figure two years later, as the committee is on track to boast a $100 million haul for the 2023-2024 cycle. A major factor in the organization’s growth in recent years has been its commitment to expanding the low-dollar fundraising program the committee launched in the 2020 cycle. The RSLC has also increased its percentage of money spent on political activity under Duncan, investing a record $61 million in 2023-2024.

“It has been the honor of a lifetime leading the RSLC for the last four years and helping to elect strong Republican leaders in the states who have been our last line of defense against the failures of the Biden-Harris administration,” said outgoing President Dee Duncan. “I’m proud of the work our team did to modernize the committee, turbocharge its fundraising, flip chambers, and grow the party from the ground up by prioritizing investments in women and diverse candidates. None of our successes would have been possible without Edith Jorge-Tuñón’s strong leadership and innovative ideas – the committee will be in great hands with her at the helm this coming cycle.”

“I am ecstatic about the opportunity we have in front of us to elect more state Republicans this cycle and am grateful for the trust the RSLC Board of Directors is putting in me to continue the historic work we have done during the past four years under Dee’s leadership," said incoming President Edith Jorge-Tuñón. “The constellation of Democrat groups we’re up against have made clear that they will only continue to increase their investments in down-ballot races in the coming years and fighting back against them will require a tremendous amount of dedication and innovation. I’m excited to get to work and know this team is up to the challenge.”

Chairman of the RSLC Board of Directors Steve Crisafulli added, “Dee Duncan is a consummate professional who has done a fantastic job taking this committee to new heights during the last four years. While he will surely be missed, we could not be more pleased that Edith Jorge-Tuñón is stepping up to lead the first-class operation that she has been instrumental in building. We are confident Edith will lead us to continued growth and success.”

In addition to growing its fundraising, Duncan and Jorge-Tuñón in recent years have overseen the committee as it has revamped its efforts to assist women and diverse candidates through its Right Leaders Network, launched innovative national paid media campaigns such as its “Left’s Most Wanted” series, made historic investments in data infrastructure, and championed investments in early and mail-in voting
