Red States Flex Economic Strength as National Economy Stumbles Under Democrat Leadership
Washington, D.C. – A rocky month for the U.S. economy saw retail sales fall, inflation remain high, and culminated with Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, and other major companies announcing there will be massive layoffs. This heightened uncertainty in the national economy and absent leadership from D.C. Democrats increases the need for commonsense economic policies at the state level, and Republicans have answered the call. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) today released their December state unemployment report revealing the drastic difference between GOP-led states -- that have championed low taxes and limited regulations -- and Democrat-led states that have mimicked the reckless spending of Joe Biden and created a sea of regulatory red tape.
December’s state economic data from the BLS shows:
8 of the 10 states with the lowest unemployment rates have Republican-led legislatures
8 of the 10 states with the highest unemployment rates have Democrat-led legislatures
“The fact that GOP-led states have maintained their economic strength while blue states have fallen behind and the national economy has stumbled is a testament to the success of conservative policies and leadership,” said RSLC Communications Director Andrew Romeo. “The American people can be confident state Republicans are hard at work serving as the last line of defense against Biden’s failures by fueling job creation and encouraging growth.”
