RSLC’S Judicial Fairness Initiative Launches New Ad Targeting Soft-on-Crime Democrat Judges in Battle for Supreme Court Control
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Republican State Leadership Committee’s Judicial Fairness Initiative (JFI) today is launching its first general election ad in the battle for control of the Ohio state Supreme Court. The 30-second spot exposes Ohio Democrat state Supreme Court candidates, Justice Jennifer Brunner, Judge Marilyn Zayas and Judge Terri Jamison for their soft-on crime rulings and informs voters about the dangers of adding to the Court three Democrats with proven records of putting the interests of criminals before the rights of victims.
The ad is the opening salvo of the committee’s $2 million cable and broadcast buy in Ohio that it announced last month, which is part of its broader commitment to investing record resources in state Supreme Court races this year to fight back against the Democrats’ “Sue Until It’s Blue” gerrymandering scheme.
“Ohioans are feeling a growing sense of uncertainty about the rise in crime in their communities thanks to Joe Biden’s anti-police agenda and they are yearning for public officials who will keep their families safe,” said RSLC JFI President Dee Duncan. “The people of Ohio simply cannot afford to have liberal judges like Jennifer Brunner, Marilyn Zayas, and Terri Jamison, who are soft on-crime and have a record of supporting violent criminals.”

TRANSCRIPT
NARRATOR: Outrageous bail rulings risk our safety, yet Jennifer Brunner and Democrat justices on the Ohio Supreme Court ruled in favor of lowering an alleged murderer’s bail. Judge Marilyn Zayas… She voted to dismiss the murder conviction of a man found guilty of killing in cold blood. Judge Terri Jamison… She would have thrown out evidence of drugs seized legally by police. Let’s stop these reckless judges. Keep soft on-crime judges like Brunner, Zayas and Jamison off the bench.
ABOUT JFI
Led by Barack Obama and Eric Holder, Democrats are fighting to transform the traditional role of the judiciary from an arbiter of the facts and the law to an advocate for the liberal political agenda. The RSLC’s Judicial Fairness Initiative (JFI) is the only national political effort focused exclusively on halting this transformation by protecting the election and selection of state court judges. JFI provides critical information about judicial candidates in an environment where voters are routinely left in the dark about a candidate’s qualifications for the bench. JFI fills that gap by providing the facts and analysis voters need to cast informed votes for judicial office. Since its formation, JFI has raised and spent more than $19.3 million in states across the country, including Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Arkansas, Louisiana, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.JFI has previously been engaged in races supporting Justice Brian Hagedorn, Justice Dan Kelly.
