What They're Saying: RSLC PAC Launches Six-Figure Television Ad Campaign in Targeted Virginia House Districts

"The campaign will emphasize how Virginia’s cost of living, politicization of public education, and violent crime rates have run rampant in Democrat-controlled Richmond."

The RSLC PAC yesterday launched a six-figure television ad campaign targeting six Democrat incumbents in Virginia’s House of Delegates. The television spots highlight that whether it’s defunding law enforcement, weakening and radicalizing public education, or decimating economic recovery -- Virginia Democrats have proven they are making worse the failures of Democrat-controlled Washington. The RSLC PAC’s television buy is part of a broader, coordinated $1 million paid media effort in the RSLC PAC's twelve targeted districts in conjunction with the Virginia House Campaign Caucus and key campaigns, and it follows the six-figure digital ad campaign the PAC launched earlier this summer.

Here is what the media is saying about the rollout:

Washington Post: A national Republican group is launching a major TV advertising campaign in six House of Delegates districts around Virginia this week, underlining the high stakes of this fall's battle for control in Richmond. With all 100 House seats on the November ballot and Democrats defending a 55-45 advantage, the Republican State Leadership Committee PAC is targeting districts seen as vulnerable to being flipped.

Virginia Scope: “Because of Democrat-controlled Washington, everything costs more, irreparable harm is being caused to the futures of our children, and families are being put at risk; and radical liberals in the Virginia’s House of Delegates are pouring gasoline on the fire,” said RSLC President Dee Duncan. “Virginians are tired of one-party rule, both in Washington and Richmond, and will make their opposition to the failed Democrat agenda felt in November.”

Townhall: The campaign will emphasize how Virginia’s cost of living, politicization of public education, and violent crime rates have run rampant in Democrat-controlled Richmond. Alex Askew (House District 85), Chris Hurst (HD 12), and Roslyn Tyler (HD 75) are among the Democrats targeted by the campaign for their stances on these respective issues.

Politico: The Republican State Leadership Committee is targeting six Virginia state lawmakers with a new six-figure TV ad campaign. The television ads “emphasize how the increasing costs of living, politicization of public education, and rising violent crime occurring nationally as a result of Democrat-controlled Washington.” The group so far has released 30-second ads targeting state Dels. Alex AskewChris Hurst and Roslyn Tyler.

National Journal: The Republican State Leadership Committee PAC will launch a six-figure television ad buy targeting six Democratic incumbents in the Virginia House of Delegates. All of the ads, with the exception of one targeting state Del. Roslyn Tyler (D), who represents a rural district in southside Virginia, “are airing in swing districts that Democrats wrested from Republicans after” President Trump “took office in 2017.” The remaining spots target state Del. Chris Hurst (D) of Montgomery, state Dels. Alex Askew (D) and Kelly Convirs-Fowler of Virginia Beach, state Del. Wendy Gooditis (D) of Clarke, and state Del. Joshua G. Cole of Fredericksburg.

Liz Brown-Kaiser (Anchor/Producer, NBC News): NEW in #VA2021 politics:@RSLC PAC is launching a six-figure TV ad campaign in state House Districts concentrated in the Richmond area. VA of course is a Democratic trifecta with control of the governor's mansion also on the line this year.
