RSLC Statement: North Carolina Republicans Secure Supermajority in State Senate, Gain Seats in State House
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a strong affirmation of the state’s successful conservative policies, North Carolina Republicans tonight secured a supermajority in the state Senate and gained seats in the state House.
“Congratulations to North Carolina Republicans on securing a supermajority in the state Senate and gaining seats in the state House,” said RSLC President Dee Duncan. "Tonight’s results in the Tar Heel State’s state legislative elections are a strong rebuke of the national liberal agenda and a critical victory for North Carolinians. For the last six years, North Carolina thrived despite Governor Cooper, not because of him. Now, North Carolina Republicans will have a better chance to advance a commonsense conservative agenda that fully supports students, small businesses, and working families.”
