RSLC ANNOUNCES NEW ROUND OF CANDIDATES IN “2021 NEW JERSEY CANDIDATE SPOTLIGHTS” SERIES

Washington, DC — The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) today highlighted a new round of candidates in its “2021 New Jersey Candidates Spotlights” series. The RSLC is proud to support candidates like these, who are fighting to revive New Jersey’s struggling economy and push back against the failed policies from Democrat-controlled Trenton.

Vincent Panico — New Jersey Assembly District 16 — @VinnyPanico

Vincent Panico is a hot air balloon pilot and the president of Hunterdon Central Regional School Board of Education. As president of the school board, he worked to eliminate debt while expanding student programs and building new facilities. As an IT consultant, Vincent is a member of InfraGard – a federal law enforcement and private sector partnership to bolster critical U.S. infrastructure and a member of ITDRC – a team of first responders who help restore critical infrastructure after a disaster. His first-hand experience on the school board will provide him valuable insight as he pushes back against Trenton Democrats’ harmful education agenda. In the Assembly, he will work to preserve the environment and improve New Jersey’s small business climate.

Susan Gaul — New Jersey Senate District 15

Susan Gaul is a registered nurse, a daughter of a veteran, and Vice Chair of the West Windsor Republican Committee. Susan knows Democrat-controlled Trenton has taken a toll on her community, resulting in some of the highest taxes in the country, trash covering streets and highways, polluted drinking water, and the destruction of Mom-and-Pop small businesses through over-regulation. She will be a champion for smart, pro-growth policies that create opportunity in New Jersey and rein in reckless spending.

Gerard Scharfenberger — New Jersey Assembly District 13 — @GScharfenberger

Assemblyman Scharfenberger was first elected to the Assembly in 2020 and serves on the Board of Directors at Habitat for Humanity of Monmouth. He’s a former Monmouth County Freeholder and served as Mayor of Middletown and on the Middletown Township Committee for nearly 13 years. He has also served in the Christie Administration as Acting Executive Director of the New Jersey Business Action Center and as Director of the Office for Planning Advocacy. Prior to becoming involved in government, Assemblyman Scharfenberger was an archaeologist. As a member of the Environment and Solid Waste, Higher Education, and Labor Committees, he will continue to advocate for policies that support New Jersey’s workforce, lower taxes, and protect the beautiful Garden state.

Christopher Connors — New Jersey Senate District 9

Senator Connors has been serving in the New Jersey State Senate since 2008. Prior to his election to the Senate, he was the Lacey Township Mayor, Director of the New Jersey Commission on Capital Budgeting and Planning and served 31 years in the General Assembly. Senator Connors is an honorary lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Retried Police and Firemen’s Association of Ocean County. He’s also received several awards, including “Citizen of the Year” by the Bayville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9503, “Legislator of the Year” by the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Department of New Jersey for 2012, among several others. Senator Connors will continue to be a champion for veterans and law enforcement, while fighting to make New Jersey more affordable for businesses and families.
