Republican State Legislative Candidates Ahead by Four on Generic Ballot in Minnesota

While President Biden won Minnesota in 2020 with 55% of the vote, Minnesotans aren’t pleased with his job performance and he is even dragging down the state legislators in the Democrat-Farmer-Laborer Party. 

A new Cygnal poll commissioned by the Republican State Leadership Committee finds: 

  • President Biden’s image is underwater by double digits at (44-56).

  • 53% of Minnesotans say the state is on the wrong track, while only 41% say it is headed in the right direction.

  • Republican state legislative candidates are ahead on the generic ballot by four points (48-44) and are decisively winning Independents by 21 points (50-29).

  • Only 37% of voters want the state legislature to support Washington’s policies compared to 47% who want the state legislature to push back on Washington.

BACKGROUND

Last week the RSLC released a separate national battleground survey (also conducted by Cygnal)  that showed that the radical liberal agenda being pursued by President Biden and his allies in Washington, D.C. is sinking Democrats at the state legislative level in a number of key battleground states across the country. Minnesota was one of the states that was polled. The findings garnered significant national attention from:
