Republican State Leadership Committee Congratulates Puerto Rico and Guam on Historic Legislative Victories

Washington, D.C. — The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) proudly congratulates the territories of Puerto Rico and Guam on their historic victories, flipping legislatures from Democratic to Republican majorities on the islands. This momentous achievement reaffirms that voters in the territories are eager for common-sense solutions to the challenges they face.

This marks the first year the RSLC actively engaged state leaders in Puerto Rico, underscoring the committee’s commitment to building a national coalition. In July, the RSLC hosted an inaugural gathering in Puerto Rico, bringing together conservative legislators from the island. This event was an important opportunity to share insights, build connections, and strategize together.

"The successes we saw in Puerto Rico and Guam show the conservative principles of limited government, economic opportunity, and accountability transcend state lines," said RSLC President Dee Duncan. "We’re especially honored to have had the opportunity to kick off our engagement on the island of Puerto Rico earlier this year with Governor-elect Jennifer González-Colón and stand with her and all of the newly elected leaders on the island as they lead their communities toward a brighter future.”

The RSLC applauds its legislative allies in the U.S. territories and celebrates with them in these victories.
