Republican-Led States Provide Bright Spot in Biden’s Dismal Economy
Washington, D.C. - Amid the backdrop of a national economy crushed by record-high inflation, soaring gas prices, and another major supply chain crisis, the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics released on Friday is further proof that Republican-led states are continuing to lead the recovery despite President Biden’s failed policies. April’s state economic data shows:
8 of the 10 states with the lowest unemployment rates have Republican-led legislatures
7 of the 10 states with the highest unemployment rates have Democrat-led legislatures
“The recipe for a weak economy at the state level is a Democrat-controlled the legislature mimicking the failing tax-and-spend policies of Joe Biden,” said RSLC Communications Director Andrew Romeo. “For Americans living in Democrat-led states, there has been no relief from the Biden economy that has increased the cost of living, driven down true wages, and reduced job opportunities. But state Republicans are showing the path forward and will keep countering Biden’s failures by passing tax cuts, reducing regulations, and protecting individual liberty to ensure that their state economies are prosperous for small businesses, workers, and families now and for years to come.”
April’s data was the latest evidence of just how important state government is to Americans’ daily lives. Conservative states that rejected lockdowns, removed unemployment bonus incentives, and have fostered pro-growth environments, have separated themselves from their Democrat counterparts who engaged in long-term lockdowns, promoted constantly changing and inconsistent COVID guidelines, and mimicked the failed policies of Joe Biden.

All 10 states with the highest increase in personal income from 2020 to 2021 are GOP-led.
While poll after poll has found an overwhelming majority of Americans are dissatisfied with Biden's national economy, a recent CBS poll found that a majority of Americans believe their state/local job market is strong. As the Washington Times editorial board noted, this is a testament to Republican leadership in the states.
18 GOP-led states have cut taxes since Joe Biden entered office, with many more tax-cut bills working their way through state legislatures across the country.
