RSLC Launches New Peer to Peer Texting App for State Candidates
Committee Makes Unprecedented $250,000 Investment in Critical Voter Contact Program
WASHINGTON, D.C.— In order to make peer to peer texting more accessible for state level candidates, the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) today announced the launch of its new app, GOP Activate. The software, which the RSLC developed in partnership with RumbleUp, will be the first of its kind to white label peer to peer texting services for state level candidates and provide them with competitive rates on voter contact. The committee’s $250,000 investment in GOP Activate will ultimately benefit state legislative campaign apparatuses across the country.
“Having the right candidates with the right message means little if we aren’t doing everything possible to arm them with cutting-edge technology needed to effectively communicate with voters," said RSLC President Dee Duncan. “This unprecedented partnership with RumbleUp will allow our candidates access to a premier peer to peer texting platform, which will help them better fight back against the national liberal money machine. GOP Activate is also a big win for the future of the Republican Party, as training our candidates to use this technology now will help them run better campaigns if they go on to seek higher office down the line.”
“RumbleUp is proud to partner with the RSLC on providing this critical service to state candidates across the country,” said RumbleUp CEO Thomas Peters. “Historically, the Democrats have invested more resources when it comes to grassroots voter contact but this new app and serious investment from the RSLC will help equip our campaigns to leapfrog their efforts in 2022 and beyond.”
GOP Activate is similar to the NRCC’s peer to peer texting app, GOP Envoy and the RGA’s GOP Gateway. Following the 10DLC registration deadline for T-Mobile and AT&T earlier this week, white labeling peer to peer texting services will be even more essential than in prior cycles. The RSLC’s new app will also ensure that all state legislative campaigns are engaging in peer to peer texting that is compliant with 10DLC, removing the burden of the complex new regulatory structure from individual candidates and state caucuses.
