GOP FLIP: Wachsmann Wins in House District 75

Snaps Roslyn Tyler’s Eight-Cycle Winning Streak

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Republican Otto Wachsmann tonight defeated Democrat Roslyn Tyler in House District 75, an incumbent who has served in the House of Delegates since 2006. Wachsmann’s victory came in a Biden-won district and despite him being outspent by 2.3:1.

Otto Wachsaman’s victory tonight in this long-time rural Democrat stronghold is further evidence that the Democrats running both Washington and Richmond overstepped their electoral mandate and that voters are tired of their radical liberal agendas,” said RSLC President Dee Duncan. “Congratulations to Otto on this historic flip. He will work tirelessly in Richmond to deliver commonsense solutions that lower the cost of living, reduce health care costs, keep families safe, and empower parents.”

Tyler spent much of the race trying to run from her anti-law enforcement record, which includes calling to defund the police as a member of the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus.

The RSLC and its affiliated groups invested heavily in holding Tyler accountable for her radical liberal positions. These efforts included a television ad launched in August highlighting her support from a group that pushed to defund the police and her vote to let the Parole Board off the hook for breaking the law and letting violent criminals out of prison early.
