Conservative Justice Daniel Kelly Advances to General Election in Crucial Wisconsin State Supreme Court Race
Washington, D.C. – Conservative Justice Dan Kelly advanced out of tonight’s primary for a seat on the State Supreme Court in Madison. After his victory, the Republican State Leadership Committee’s Judicial Fairness Initiative (RSLC JFI) issued the following statement.
“Congratulations to Justice Kelly, a principled conservative who will be a strong advocate for upholding the rule of law,” said RSLC JFI President Dee Duncan. “As radical liberal activists like Eric Holder and their billionaire donors have their sights set on using this seat to redraw congressional and legislative maps from the bench, the RSLC’s Judicial Fairness Initiative will continue to monitor this race for opportunities to fight back against those who wish to turn Wisconsin’s state Supreme Court into a far-left legislative body.”
BACKGROUND
Led by Barack Obama and Eric Holder, Democrats are fighting to transform the traditional role of the judiciary from an arbiter of the facts and the law to an advocate for the liberal political agenda. The RSLC’s Judicial Fairness Initiative (JFI) is the only national political effort focused exclusively on halting this transformation by protecting the election and selection of state court judges. JFI provides critical information about judicial candidates in an environment where voters are routinely left in the dark about a candidate’s qualifications for the bench. JFI fills that gap by providing the facts and analysis voters need to cast informed votes for judicial office. Since its formation, the Judicial Fairness Initiative has raised and spent more than $29 million in states across the country, including Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Republicans went five for five in state Supreme Court races in North Carolina and Ohio in 2022. These wins will have a significant impact on the redistricting process within the next decade.
