RSLC Launches “Win the Legislatures” Video Spotlighting the Fight for Redistricting Control

Washington, D.C. — The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) today released “Win the Legislatures,” a new digital video highlighting Republicans’ success in building state legislative majorities that determine who draws the nation’s congressional maps and warning that those gains are on the ballot again in 2026.
The video comes as Democrats and their allied organizations openly shift their focus from the courthouse to state legislative races, recognizing that control of legislative chambers, not litigation, will determine who holds the redistricting pen in the years ahead. The RSLC detailed in its recent memo on the new redistricting arms race how the battle over congressional maps has already begun, making the fight for state legislative majorities one of the defining political contests of the 2026 cycle.
The video underscores a simple reality: redistricting is won in state legislatures. After years of electing Republican majorities across the country, the next election cycle will determine whether those victories are preserved or whether Democrats regain the power to redraw the political map. Control of redistricting isn’t decided in a single election; it is earned and defended cycle after cycle. In 2026, voters will decide who holds the pen when the next generation of congressional maps is drawn.
