RSLC Launches Second Spot in “States Don’t Wait” Campaign Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary

Six-figure spot airing across five battleground states underscores how Republican legislatures are cutting taxes, strengthening communities, and delivering results

Washington, D.C. — The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) is continuing its “States Don’t Wait” campaign with the release of its second spot, “Pact,” running across the same five battleground states this summer as part of the organization’s celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. The new ad draws a direct line from the founding promise to “insure domestic tranquility” to the public safety crisis created by open borders, defunded police departments, and rising crime in Democrat-run communities, and contrasts it with the actions Republican state legislatures are taking to restore order.

The ad will be backed by a six-figure buy on digital platforms and will run statewide in Arizona, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, focusing on how state Republicans are funding police, cracking down on sanctuary cities, and keeping violent criminals off the streets, while Democrats have pursued policies that have left communities less safe.

“Our Founders understood that freedom cannot exist without safety,” said RSLC President Edith Jorge-Tuñón. “Yet across the country, we’ve watched progressive politicians weaken law enforcement, tolerate lawlessness, and put ideology ahead of the people they’re elected to protect. Republican state legislatures are charting a different course, backing the men and women in uniform, enforcing the law, rejecting sanctuary city policies, and making communities safer. As America celebrates 250 years of self-government, Republicans are proving that strong states and safe communities remain the foundation of the American Promise.”

The committee also launched a new microsite that will serve as a one-stop site for the campaign’s content, including merchandise concepts to help conservatives across the country celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

TRANSCRIPT:

NARRATOR: “250 years ago, our forefathers made a pact to establish justice, tranquility, provide a common defense, a promise abandoned by radicals who opened our borders, defunded our police, let chaos rule our streets. But Republican legislatures are fighting back, funding police departments, taking on sanctuary cities, keeping violent criminals behind bars, because when your safety is on the line, Republican states don’t wait to take action for 250 years and counting.”

BACKGROUND:

  • Earlier this year, the RSLC released its 2026 Battleground States Memo identifying Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin as some of the nation’s most competitive state legislative battlegrounds.

  • The “States Don’t Wait” campaign will run across all five battleground states highlighted in the RSLC’s 2026 Battleground States Memo, reinforcing the importance of state legislative majorities in shaping the future of the country.
