RSLC Launches First Ad in “States Don’t Wait” Campaign Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary

Six-figure spot airing across five battleground states underscores how Republican legislatures are cutting taxes, strengthening communities, and delivering results

Washington, D.C. — The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) is marking America’s 250th Birthday Celebration by launching “States Don’t Wait,” a multi-spot ad campaign running across five battleground states this summer. This campaign makes the case that the federalist system so crucial to the Founders at the birth of our nation continues to endure. States are still the most effective and responsive engines of governance, and Republican legislatures are proving it every single day.

The ad will be backed by a six-figure buy on digital platforms and will run statewide in Arizona, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania and focuses on how state Republicans are cutting taxes while liberals are supporting out of touch policies that would drive up costs for Americans.

“For 250 years, progress in America has started in the states, and it still does today,” said RSLC President Edith Jorge-Tuñón. “As families continue to feel the squeeze of rising costs, Republican state legislators are doing what Democrats won’t: advancing commonsense policies that make everyday life more affordable. Across the country, Republican-led legislatures are cutting taxes, eliminating unnecessary regulations, balancing budgets, and putting more money back into the hands of hardworking Americans. Meanwhile, Democrats continue to champion the same big-government policies that drive up costs and make it harder for families to achieve the American Dream. The Founders envisioned states as engines of innovation and accountability, and 250 years later Republican leaders are proving the Founders’ system right by delivering real results where it matters most.”

The committee also launched a new microsite that will serve as a one stop shop for the campaign’s content, inclusive of merchandise concepts to help conservatives across the country celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

TRANSCRIPT:

NARRATOR: “It started with a party in the harbor and sparked a revolution. We rejected a faraway government that took too much, listened too little. And built a new system where states lead the way. Today, out-of-touch liberals are driving up costs for families. But Republican legislatures are stepping up. Cutting taxes. Slashing costs. Putting money back where it belongs. When Washington won’t listen, our states don’t wait. For two hundred fifty years and counting.

BACKGROUND:

  • Earlier this year, the RSLC released its 2026 Battleground States Memo identifying Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin as some of the nation’s most competitive state legislative battlegrounds.

  • The “States Don’t Wait” campaign will run across all five battleground states highlighted in the RSLC’s 2026 Battleground States Memo, reinforcing the importance of state legislative majorities in shaping the future of the country.
