Republican Secretaries of State Committee (RSSC) Announces 2026 Executive Committee

WASHINGTON, D.C.  –– The Republican Secretaries of State Committee (RSSC), a caucus of the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC), today announced its 2026 Executive Committee as the organization prepares for a high-stakes cycle ahead. In 2026, 26 secretary of state elections will be held nationwide, placing control of some of the most critical offices overseeing elections, ballot integrity, and statewide administration on the line. Republicans enter the cycle with momentum after re-electing Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen and electing Denny Hoskins in Missouri and Kris Warner in West Virginia in 2024. The RSSC will work to support Republican candidates committed to making voting easy, securing election systems, and pushing back against unprecedented spending from national liberal organizations seeking to influence these offices.

“Secretaries of state are on the front lines of protecting election integrity, and the stakes in 2026 could not be higher,” said Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen, Chair of the RSSC. “With 26 races on the ballot, Republicans have a responsibility to ensure our elections are secure, transparent, and worthy of the public’s trust. The RSSC is united behind commonsense reforms that expand access to the ballot while preventing fraud, and I’m proud to lead this committee as we prepare for a pivotal election cycle.”

“Voters expect elections that are fair, secure, and free from political gamesmanship,” said Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate, Vice Chair of the RSSC. “In 2026, national liberal groups will once again target secretary of state races in an attempt to influence how elections are run. The RSSC is ready to push back, support strong Republican candidates, and ensure these offices remain focused on serving voters.”

“Winning these races requires more than good policy; it requires early planning and serious investment,” said Idaho Secretary of State Phil McGrane, Finance Chair of the RSSC. “With more than two dozen contests in 2026, the RSSC is focused on building the financial strength needed to compete in every targeted state. We will counter the Left’s national money machine, support our candidates early, and make sure Republicans are positioned to win and protect election integrity across the country.”

ABOUT RSSC

Protecting the integrity of our elections has never been more important. Through the Republican Secretaries of State Committee (RSSC), one of the four caucuses of the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC), we are working to elect leaders who champion policies that make it easy to vote and hard to cheat. Secretaries of state also oversee trademark and business registration, run the library and archives operation, manage professional licensing, and perform other critical tasks that encourage the state’s economic development. Since 2007, RSSC has achieved tremendous success, and Republicans currently hold 27 out of 50 secretary of state offices.

ABOUT RSLC

The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) is the largest organization of Republican state leaders in the country and only national committee whose mission is to recruit, train, and elect Republicans to multiple down-ballot, state-level offices. Thanks to our growing network of grassroots supporters in all 50 states, we help deliver wins for Republican state legislators, lieutenant governors, secretaries of state, agriculture officials, and state judges across the country.
