Strong Employment Numbers Have Republican-led States Best Prepared to Weather Potential Biden Recession

Washington, D.C. – As a result of Joe Biden’s disastrous economic agenda, families and small businesses across the country have been crushed by record-high inflation. Throughout President Biden’s tenure, Republican legislatures have fought to lower costs and create economic opportunity in their states. Today’s Bureau of Labor Statistics’ report shows how these efforts have GOP-led states best positioned to weather a potential national recession driven by Biden’s failures. 

June’s state economic data shows:

• 8 of the 10 states with the lowest unemployment rates have Republican-led legislatures
• 7 of the 10 states with the highest unemployment rates have Democrat-led legislatures
• 20 states with Republican-led legislatures hit record-low unemployment in 2022

“While Biden and his Democrat allies shuttered businesses and went on a reckless spending spree that sent inflation through the roof, state Republicans consistently defended freedom and fought to let taxpayers keep more of their hard-earned money,” said RSLC Communications Director Andrew Romeo. “Policies have consequences and the data makes clear that the liberal agenda destroys state economies while Republican ideas save them.”
