RSLC Statement on Pennsylvania Primary

Washington D.C.— Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) President Edith Jorge-Tuñón released the following statement in response to tonight’s primary results in Pennsylvania:

“The Republican State Leadership Committee is excited to congratulate the strong slate of Republican state legislative candidates nominated across Pennsylvania tonight. These candidates are focused on delivering commonsense leadership, protecting taxpayers, supporting law enforcement, and defending the values that matter to families across the Commonwealth. National Democrats will spend millions trying to flip the Pennsylvania State Senate and expand their razor-thin State House majority because they know Republicans remain the last line of defense against Governor Josh Shapiro and Harrisburg Democrats’ radical agenda. But Pennsylvanians continue to reject the far-left policies being pushed across the country and understand that Republican leadership has helped keep the Commonwealth on the right track. The RSLC is fully committed to defending and growing Republican majorities in Pennsylvania this November and ensuring Democrats do not gain unchecked one-party control in Harrisburg.”

Background

  • Earlier this year, the RSLC named Pennsylvania a top priority for the committee in 2026.

  • Earlier this cycle, National Democrats announced Pennsylvania as a Top Battleground State, while noting 2026 is “a historic opportunity to build power in Pennsylvania” for state Democrats.

  • In 2024, the RSLC conducted the largest ever statewide mail-in-ballot initiative in Pennsylvania’s history.

  • The RSLC has already made a six-figure investment in Pennsylvania in 2026.
