RSLC Statement on Arizona State Legislative Primaries

Washington D.C. —Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) President Dee Duncan released the following statement in response to tonight’s primary results in Arizona’s state legislative races:

“From enhancing education opportunities for Arizona students, to bringing working families relief from 40-year high inflation with historic tax cuts, the commonsense conservative agenda Arizona’s Republican-led Legislature is passing is moving the state forward. The Republican state legislative nominees selected by the voters tonight will put us in a strong position ahead of November, and the RSLC is committed to investing what it takes to retain our razor-thin majorities. Arizonians know that Republicans in Phoenix are the only ones who can protect them from the disaster that is the Biden administration and will vote this November to keep their check and balance on the President as he continues to fail the country.” 

BACKGROUND 

• The RSLC in March announced that holding both its state legislative majorities in Arizona will be a top priority for the committee in 2022.
• Last week, the RLSC released its first ever Spanish language ad that is currently airing in Arizona.
• Polling conducted by the RSLC in January found that voters by a double digit margin (51-37) want their state Legislature to push back against the policies coming out of Washington, D.C.
