Republican States Leading Economic Recovery Despite Biden’s Failures

While Joe Biden continues to tout the economic “progress” his administration is making to increase gas prices and inflation, the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) released a new video today highlighting the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ May data showing states with Republican-led legislatures are leading the economic recovery despite the President’s failures. The video also notes that these Republican states are leaving their Democrat counterparts – who have mimicked Biden’s disastrous economic policies – in the dust when it comes to lowering their unemployment rates.

May’s state economic data shows:

• 8 of the 10 states with the lowest unemployment rates have Republican-led legislatures
• 7 of the 10 states with the highest unemployment rates have Democrat-led legislatures
• 18 states with Republican-led legislatures hit record-low unemployment in 2022

“State Republicans’ rejection of President Biden’s reckless tax-and-spend agenda shielded their constituents from the worst of Bidenflation and the conservative policies they implemented have Republican-led states better positioned to weather the national recession Biden is thrusting on the American people,” said RSLC Communications Director Andrew Romeo. “It is a shame that state Democrats are too wedded to their socialist agenda to reverse course and begin following Republicans’ lead by lowering costs and expanding economic opportunity.”
