Republican State Legislative Candidates Ahead on Generic Ballot in Pennsylvania

Following a national battleground poll released last week showing Biden is a drag on state legislative candidates across the country, the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) today released results from a separate, more extensive survey in Pennsylvania. 

A new Cygnal survey found that in Pennsylvania,  

• Legislative Republicans are leading on generic ballot by six points (48-42).
• Elected Republicans in the General Assembly are the most popular person/group tested.
• Biden — with a net-negative image of 16 points (40-56), — and elected Democrats in Washington – with a net-negative image of 19 points (36-54) –are the least popular.
• Additionally, only 36% of voters want the state legislature to support Washington’s policies compared to 46% who want the state legislature to push back on Washington.

“These numbers confirm why so many Pennsylvania Democrats cited ‘scheduling conflicts’ when President Biden came to town last week,” said RSLC Deputy Communications Director Mason Di Palma. “The policies coming out of Democrat-controlled Washington have been a disaster for Pennsylvanians, and legislative Democrats are refusing to push back on these policies. Republicans in the legislature will hold the line in November because they continue to put their constituents first and fight back against Joe Biden and the rest of his Democrat enablers.”

Last week the RSLC released a national battleground survey (also conducted by Cygnal)  that showed that the radical liberal agenda being pursued by President Biden and his allies in Washington, D.C. is sinking Democrats at the state legislative level in a number of key battleground states across the country. Pennsylvania was one of the states that was polled. The findings garnered significant national attention from:
