The National Meeting in Atlanta brought together legislative leaders and business representatives from all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
Alongside Speaker Turzai and Speaker Upmeyer these elected officials will serve as members of the 2017 Executive Committee: Colorado Senate President Kevin Grantham, Florida Senator Lizbeth Benacquisto, Indiana Speaker Brian Bosma, Kentucky Senate President Robert Stivers, Kentucky House Majority Floor Leader Jonathan Shell, Minnesota Speaker Kurt Daudt, Mississippi Speaker Phil Gunn, Missouri Speaker Todd Richardson, Nevada Senate Republican Leader Michael Roberson, New Jersey Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean, New Mexico House Republican Leader Nate Gentry, New York Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan, North Carolina Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger, Oregon Senate Republican Leader Ted Ferrioli, South Carolina House Majority Whip Phyllis Henderson, Texas Speaker of the House Joe Straus, Virginia Speaker Bill Howell, Washington Senate Majority Leader Mark Schoesler, and Wisconsin Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald.
RLCC Chairman Mike Turzai said: “The RLCC’s organization allowed state Republicans to maintain their all-time legislative highs including in my own state of Pennsylvania. With 69 of 99 legislative chambers controlled by Republicans, there has never been a better time to be a Republican legislative leader. Following our productive meeting in Atlanta, these Executive Committee members are prepared and ready to help spread the success stories of Republican leadership to voters ahead of the 2018 midterms.”
RLCC Vice-Chairwoman Linda Upmeyer added: “The National Meeting was our most successful yet as we were able to bring together a set of legislative leaders from a broad cross section of America. The members of our 2017 Executive Committee will be instrumental in ensuring continued Republican victories in legislative races throughout the country.”
The RLCC is the premier campaign organization for Republican legislative leaders and has played a major role in returning legislative power to Republicans since 2010. The RLCC works with legislative leaders across the country and in 2016 helped Republicans gain control in state legislative chambers in Iowa, Kentucky, and Minnesota.
