WASHINGTON – The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) released the following statement after Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft secured reelection in Missouri:
“Secretary Ashcroft is fighting to bring leadership and integrity to Jefferson City and for his state’s voting systems, and we are proud to congratulate him on once again earning the trust of Missourians,” said Edith Jorge-Tuñón, RSLC Political Director. “The RSLC is pleased to have Secretary Ashcroft as a member of our team, and we’re excited to continue our work together.”
Jay Ashcroft was born in Jefferson City, Missouri, where he spent his youth and graduated from Jefferson City High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering management from Missouri University of Science and Technology (Rolla) and after graduating, moved to West Plains, Missouri to work for a defense-based engineering company. After a decade devoted to engineering, Jay sought to bring his technical experience into a practice of law. As a graduate of St. Louis University School of Law and a member of the Missouri bar, Ashcroft has earned multiple certifications in the challenging arena of citizen privacy and data protection.
As Missouri’s Secretary of State, Ashcroft is committed to fulfilling promises made on the campaign trail: to rebuild confidence in elections, to restore relationships with local election authorities, and to work to attract new jobs in Missouri.
The RSLC was proud to support Secretary Ashcroft’s efforts to secure the Republican nomination and continue to support his candidacy through the general election with an investment of over $25,000 in his race.
