WASHINGTON – The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) released the following statement after state Republicans in Michigan overcame a historic influx of outside liberal spending to hold onto the Republican state House majority:
“Voters today put Governor Whitmer’s radically liberal administration on notice. Michiganders sent the message that they are unwilling to hand her the blank check of power she wants so she can shutter the state’s economy, keep kids out of school, and encourage lawlessness in the streets,” said RSLC President Austin Chambers. “Republican state majorities have held the line against this gross government overreach, and leaders like Speaker Chatfield will continue to fight for the interests of Michigan families and businesses. We’re thrilled to have supported these key victories and look forward to continuing our work together.”
The RSLC identified Michigan as a top political priority and invested nearly $2 million to defend the Michigan state House.
