Committee invested nearly $3 million to halt blue wave momentum and protect Republican trifecta
WASHINGTON – The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) released the following statement after Republicans successfully defended both the house and senate in the Peach State. Down-ballot Republicans held the line in both the state house and senate, despite Democrats’ determination to turn Georgia blue in both the presidential race and legislative races.
The committee invested nearly $3 million to help elect strong, conservative Georgians and combat unprecedented liberal spending in the state.
“Georgia’s Republican leadership has been second-to-none, never giving up the fight to ensure safety and economic security for every Georgian,” said Austin Chambers, RSLC President. “We could not be more proud to have been on the front lines of defending this Republican Majority. Congratulations to Speaker Ralston and all of the incoming Republican legislators. Georgia’s best days lie ahead.”
“Thanks in large part to the team at RSLC, Georgia Republicans have stopped the liberal onslaught from Stacey Abrams and her allies and protected their majority in the state House,” said Governor Brian Kemp, former Republican Secretaries of State Committee (RSSC) Chairman. “With a Republican trifecta intact, we will continue to deliver results for hardworking Georgians — protecting people and their paychecks, investing in education and public safety, enhancing access to affordable healthcare, and keeping our economy growing so that we remain the best state for business.”
The RSLC identified the Georgia state House and Senate as a top priority in the 2019-2020 cycle to win key flips, like Democrat Leader Bob Trammell’s seat, and hold their legislative majorities to protect Georgians from liberal gerrymandering after the next Census. The committee engaged in robust in-state earned media and digital campaigns focused on drawing clear contrasts between the Republican Party’s record of success and the Democratic Party’s embrace of the socialist agenda.
