WASHINGTON – The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) released the following statement after Commissioner Kent Leonhardt secured the Republican nomination for West Virginia Agriculture Commissioner:
“The RSLC isn’t taking anything for granted this cycle, and we are proud to support Agriculture Commissioner Kent Leonhardt’s leadership in West Virginia,” said Austin Chambers, RSLC President. “Congratulations to Commissioner Leonhardt on, once again, securing the Republican nomination. We look forward to yet another victory night in the fall.”
The RSLC was proud to spotlight Commissioner Leonhardt in our “2020 Candidate Spotlight” series. He is a longtime farmer who has lived on a farm that he began reviving in 1982. He served in the United States Marine Corps, where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 20 years of service. Leonhardt is a former West Virginia State Senator, where he served one of the largest and most rural districts. He is a husband, father, and grandfather.
