Major New Radio Ad Buy Highlights Schachtner’s Liberal Record of Financial Irresponsibility
WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 4th, 2018) — A new issue ad buy placed today by the Republican State Leadership Committee is highlighting the financial irresponsibility of liberal Patty Schachtner. As Chief Medical Examiner for St. Croix County, salaries for Schachtner’s office more than doubled in just five years. Even worse, Schachtner has supported a more than $4 million property tax increase on her neighbors as a member of the Somerset Board of Education. All this after the same school district had to sue her over unpaid bills.
“Liberals love to talk about ‘fairness,’ but how fair is it for Schachtner’s Somerset neighbors to have to face a massive property tax increase when she had to be sued just to pay her own bills?” asked Matt Walter, President of the Republican State Leadership Committee. “From her personal financial delinquency with the Somerset School District, to supporting a more than $4 million property tax increase on her neighbors, to salaries in her taxpayer-funded office doubling in just five years, Patty Schachtner needs to be told to stop her personal greed and liberal waste of taxpayer dollars,” Walter added.
The five-figure radio ad buy will be initially on the air for about two weeks. The audio link and script follow below:

Script of Ad “Out of Your Wallet”
“You hear that? That’s the sound of greedy Patty Schachtner wasting more of your money.”
“Since Patty Schachtner was put in charge of our local Medical Examiner office, their taxpayer-funded salaries more than doubled in just five years.”
“That’s greedy and wasteful.”
“But that’s not all… while on a school board, she pushed for a property tax hike that would’ve cost us more than four million dollars!”
“Schachtner wanted to hike the tax bills of her neighbors… but wouldn’t pay her own bills… her school district had to file a lawsuit to make her pay hundreds in lunch expenses she’d pushed off on… you guessed it… the taxpayer.”
“We work hard for our money… and Patty Schachtner is working hard… to spend it.”
“Tell Patty Schachtner to stay out of our wallets. She’s failed us. Stop the greed, Stop the waste. Just stop, Patty.”
