WASHINGTON – The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) released the following statement after former U.S. Army Captain David Jenkins secured the Republican nomination for Georgia House District 132. Jenkins will face Democrat House Leader Bob Trammell— whose district President Trump and Governor Kemp won in 2016 and 2018, respectively. House Minority Leader Trammell’s district is the committee’s number one flip-target in the country. The RSLC today announced a full-scale campaign to defeat Trammell, launching its first round of television, digital, and mail advertising.
“The RSLC is proud to have David Jenkins leading the fight to defeat tax-loving, job-stifling, liberal Democrat Bob Trammell,” said RSLC President Austin Chambers. “David is a true American hero that gives the people of Georgia a strong, conservative leader. The RSLC is all-in to make sure David Jenkins defeats Trammell in November.”
The RSLC recently endorsed David Jenkins to ensure Republicans defeat Democrat Bob Trammell, who consistently votes against legislation to save Georgians’ taxpayer dollars. The committee has already invested to help Jenkins win the primary and is committed to spend whatever it takes to flip this critical Trump-won seat.
David Jenkins currently serves as an air ambulance helicopter pilot for Coweta, Meriwether, and Troup Counties. Additionally, he is a farmer and owner of Jenkins Farms in Grantville. Jenkins is a U.S. Army veteran of 21 years, where he served multiple deployments and retired as a captain and pilot for the 101st Airborne Division. He was deployed as a helicopter pilot to Kuwait during the invasion of Iraq in 2000. Jenkins is also a former Clayton County policeman and former Georgia Forestry Commission wildland firefighter.
