WASHINGTON – The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) released the following statement after Eric Davanzo beat out major Democrat investments in the special election for Pennsylvania House District 58. Democrats poured hundreds of thousands of dollars in the 11th hour to try and flip back this historically Democrat district – and lost.
RSLC President Austin Chambers said:
“Eric Davanzo’s election to the Pennsylvania House is a special one because as a union carpenter and former Democrat, Eric noticed that President Trump and the Republican agenda are working for the American people. It’s quite telling and indicates a larger movement within the commonwealth of Pennsylvania – Republicans are positioned to keep winning with good policy and strong candidates. Eric is committed to cutting wasteful spending, stopping high taxes, and putting people before politics. The RSLC congratulates Representative-elect Davanzo on this major victory – we look forward to continuing to support great candidates like Eric up-and-down the ballot.”
The RSLC invested nearly $200,000 in supporting the Pennsylvania’s House Republican Campaign Committee’s special election get out the vote (GOTV) efforts through digital and radio advertisements in the commonwealth. Democrats spent close to $1 million to attack House Districts 58 and 18, where Republicans Eric Davanzo and K.C. Tomlinson won respectively.
