Karl Rove Joins “It’s Bigger Than You Think”
Washington, DC — As President Biden wraps up a disastrous first year in office and the midterms are coming into focus, the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) today restarted its podcast, “It’s Bigger Than You Think,” for 2022. The latest episode the committee released today features an interview with RSLC Board Member and former White House Deputy Chief of Staff, Karl Rove.
Rove discusses how Republicans can fight back against hypocritical liberal gerrymandering, President Biden's out-of-touch agenda, the significance of state level elections, and the importance of continuing to expand the reach of the conservative movement. Rove also offers expert insight into how Republicans can run successful campaigns this cycle by effectively targeting and communicating with voters about the pressing issues facing our country in 2022 and beyond.
“It’s Bigger Than You Think,” which is released bi-weekly on Wednesdays and is available on Spotify, Anchor, iTunes, and Youtube, contains in-depth discussions with current and former state Republicans, national thought leaders, and top political strategists about the outsized impact state government has on the everyday lives of all Americans.

HIGHLIGHTS:
Karl Rove on how RSLC's success in 2020 helped shape the battle over redistricting:
“It was enormously important. In Texas, Democrats fully anticipated they would take the Texas House. Led by a very aggressive house member they won a bunch of seats in the previous two cycles and they were within 9 seats of taking control. They poured an enormous amount of money, over $60 million. And yet they came up short, they didn't make a single gain... RSLC did that across the country whether it was North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, or Texas it was critical to keeping Republican hands on the levers of redistricting."
Karl Rove on how Republicans should run in 2022 and beyond:
“The most important platform is one candidates actually believe in, people like authenticity, so the most important message is to have one that someone cares about. Take Glenn Younkin, he actually cared about what would make the economy of Virginia better. Take education, why was it that we were failing so many kids and what did we need to do in order to prepare every child for a great life by giving them a quality education. He cared about the safety of neighborhoods and crime. So he talked about things that gave him credibility."
Karl Rove on how Democrats will try to bounce back from 2021 losses in Virginia and New Jersey:
“I think they are going to make a big mistake and try and pump-up the hard left of the Democratic Party... I think they are going to make a mistake by trying to do things to appeal to the hard-left of the Democrat party. Which means they don't really have much impact on the independents and swing voters who are going to decide the election."
Karl Rove on the importance of the RSLC in shaping future leaders of the Republican party and the country:
“Well the RSLC is the farm team, people who get elected to state office tend to be the future of the party. When an open congressional seat comes up they run for it, or when that statewide office comes up they run for it, or maybe they think about running for the Senate. But it's also the center of diversity in the party. One of the great successes the RSLC had in 2021 and I think in 2022 is to support women, veteran, minority, and young candidates. All of that helps broaden the appeal of the Republican party."
