Judicial Fairness Initiative

The RSLC’s Judicial Fairness Initiative (JFI) works to elect down-ballot, state-level conservatives to the judiciary.  Through JFI, the RSLC became the only national political organization focused exclusively on the electoral process of judicial branches at the state level.  Too often voters are starved of information about judicial candidates up for election and forced to vote completely in the dark.  To address this critically important need, JFI provides the public with a balanced flow of relevant information to make educated decisions and support common sense conservative judges at the state level.

In 2014, JFI invested in the following successful Supreme Court races: Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, and Ohio. These successes helped protect conservative policy interests that align with local voters, including a recent 4-3 decision in North Carolina affirming legislative efforts to expand school choice. JFI invested over $3.5 million in 2014.

In the 2015-2016 cycle, JFI invested $3.7m in the following successful Supreme Court races: Arkansas, Ohio, West Virginia and Wisconsin.  JFI invested more than $6.1 million in its efforts during 2015-2016 cycle, bringing total JFI investments to $9.9 million since its formation in 2014.
